New York Based Fashion Creative Director Marcus Blassingame entered the entertainment business midway through attending Kean University while studying business science with a minor in communications.

Fashion Stylist

Marcus passion switched to fashion and while covering New York Fashion Week for TBW Style Report, Marcus was requested to work on a shoot for then Arista Records Recording Artist Monica for Hype Hair magazine which offset the industry's allure to his creative talent. 

From the Hype Hair shoot stemmed an abundance of celebrity editorials including TBW Style Report, Trace, Teen People, BE, Vibe, XXL, The Village Voice, Paper Magazine, YRB, Flaunt, Chicago and too many more to name in one setting. While making his rounds as an editorial stylist, Marcus began developing a reputation in the music industry and was eventually called to create the image for Arista Music Mogul Clive Davis's personal project, the R&B sensation Next! and lead to his career as a celebrity fashion stylist for not only Arista Records, but also Sony, RCA, Columbia, Capitol, Loud, MCA, Atlantic, Queen Latifah's Flava Unit and many more. 

Some of the celebrity clients names include Alicia Keys, Nicki Minaj, Kelly Rowland, Maxwell, Kelis, Trey Songz, Akon, Bilal, LV, Lord Tariq and Peter Gunz, Amarie and many more.

Sharing his talents in fashion afforded  Marcus his consistency in growth as he graduated to Chief Fashion Editor of TBW Style Report, landing him covers of celebs like Mary J Blidge, Toni Braxton, Megan Goode, Vivica Fox, LisaRaye, 50 Cent, Nicole Ari Parker, Toya Wright, Vanessa Williams, Stacey Dash, Angell Conwell, Tamala Jones,Gabrielle Reece, Sean Hayes and many more.

Marcus is no stranger to Network TV. From working with La La Anthony on MTV's THE GRIND, to being Treach of Naughty By Nature stylist for Source All Access, Marcus has helped develop the image of many celebrities and TV personalities. For VH1, during their second Season of Basketball Wives LA, Marcus developed, managed, image consulted, styled and booked their then number one personality Draya Michele for the show. Marcus appeared on the show after he introduced the then small town Reading PA girl next door via a reel that was supposed be a pitch by the director for his own show. From there he booked her on MTV's Hip Hop Squares, Man Code, The Wendy Williams Show and after encouraging her to take acting classes, booked her for Real Husbands Of Hollywood. Through expert consulting in Fashion, Draya now owns two contemporary clothing lines.

Marcus also appeared on VH1 Love And Hip Hop showcasing his creative direction talents.

Chief Editor

At a high point of Hip Hop, the publishers of the first ever Hip Hop magazine Word Up, matured and developed a magazine for their growing audience called Today's Black Men which became the launch pad for many up and coming artists, designers, models, influencers and talent. As the editor in Chief Marcus helped grow the distribution from 100,000 to 300,000 copies at a bi-monthly frequency. 

Under the same publisher as TBW Style Report, Today's Black Men shared some of the same celebrities within its Market.

Transition

In his transition from Urban to Full Fashion Influencer Editorial, Marcus' features include Ad Campaigns for Avant-Toi, appearing in Numero and Vogue Homme, covers of Ellements Magazines, Rolling Out, Cosmopolitan, Editorials in Livid Magazine, Elegant, Sheen and Delux Magazines.
